We believe in the power of diverse, intersectional perspectives to drive meaningful change, and are dedicated to positioning those with lived experience of disability at the heart of decision-making, so that their experiences and insights can shape the future of accessibility and inclusion.

We commit to non-oppressive and intersectional research practices in all of our work. We understand that research can replicate power imbalances and be extractionary by nature, so we take deliberate steps to ensure our research is paid, respectful, and community-led.

By signing up, you become an essential part of our ecosystem, enabling us to reach out to you for future projects, studies, and initiatives. These opportunities will be paid, and could span industries from banking and finance, to ecommerce and technology, and more.

I appreciated the transparency with which the processes of the project were laid out ahead of time. It was a really calm and open environment, where I felt encouraged to share ideas, and I felt inspired to come up with ideas.

Research participant feedback

Do you want to lead accessibility and inclusion changes as a disabled decision maker?

As a member of our research database, you will receive invitations via email to participate in various projects, including surveys, focus groups, user testing, and one-to-one interviews. We will ask you to share your thoughts and experiences on various topics, products, and services or policies.

You will be the first to hear about any paid projects we’re working on before we open them up beyond our research database.

You’ll receive updates on all projects where decision makers from our research database have played a key role, along with key findings and insights from our research.

You can also ask to be removed from our database at any time by contacting the team at accessibility@tiltingthelens.com.

Expenses and fees

Your participation is always optional, and you can choose the projects you participate in. Our ethos is that lived experience is intellectual property, so your contributions and time will be compensated with a fee or a gift voucher.

The research may be online or in person, however for any in-person research, we will always cover your travel costs and access accommodations.

Accessibility

For any project you are involved in, we will ensure accessibility throughout the whole project and all accommodations requested will be considered and provided.

If you have any accessibility concerns or questions please contact accessibility@tiltingthelens.com

When you fill in the contact form at the bottom of this page, we will email you for more information about yourself.

We gather this additional detail to ensure that we only send research invitations that are relevant to you. For example, if a project requires insights from people who are in a particular age group or from a specific country, then we will find the people who are the best match. The information that we ask for is for internal use only and will not be shared externally. Any research data, findings, conclusions, or specific feedback like quotes will be anonymised by Tilting the Lens.
